Project Description

G&A prepared a Wastewater Master Plan (WWMP) for the City’s long range planning purposes that included an evaluation of the system capacity based on existing and ultimate development conditions, and available record drawings and GIS data. An exhibit was prepared that identified the City’s undersized wastewater facilities along with the ultimate required facilities.

In 2000, the City initiated a basin by basin program of I&I studies with G&A that encompassed the entire City. To date, G&A has completed studies of the following basins: Spring Creek, Heath Creek, Basin D, Basin I, and Bee Branch with Basin O. G&A surveyed all the located manholes in these basins while a subconsultant performed field services that included manhole inspection, smoke testing, television inspection, and flow monitoring. The field services report provided an assessment of the system condition.

With each I&I Study, G&A reevaluated the system capacity using the manhole survey, the flow monitoring results, new record drawings, and updated City zoning information. In addition, G&A compared the field services assessment with the required capacity improvements and provided conclusions and recommendations regarding priority wastewater improvements for each basin.
