Project Description

G&A was retained by the City of Rowlett as part of a Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES) team. G&A assisted the City in identifying a wastewater model that suited their system parameters and their desire to perform future model updates in-house. Once Bentley’s SewerCAD software was selected, G&A built the model using City record drawings, GISD data, flow monitoring and rain gauge data, and a GPS manhole survey.

In conjunction with the Wastewater Master Plan, G&A identified upgrades to the Eastside Lift Station (ESLS) that enabled the flow to be pumped past the Westside Lift Station (WSLS) into the downstream force main. By taking the ESLS flow off the WSLS, the available WSLS capacity was increased substantially. This potentially saved the City over $10 million that had been previously earmarked for the replacement of both lift stations. A surge model was prepared and a surge tank was installed at the ESLS. The project construction cost was $1,530,026.
